Jesus You make me Sain.
They don't understand, it's all Vain.
Fill my head, only like You can.
Spill out my thoughts, You understand.
This world is crazy, blood on their Hands.
Lord let us follow You, every Command.
Protect our people, every tribe, every Land.
Jesus You make me Sain.
To You alone, forever I'll Sing.

6. "On Fire"
6. "On Fire"
I tell you where you need to goTell you when you'll need to leave
I tell you what you need to know
Tell you who you need to be
But everything inside you knows
There's more than what you've heard
There's so much more than empty conversations
Filled with empty words
And you're on fire when he's near you
You're on fire when he speaks
You're on fire burning at these mysteries
Give me one more time around
Give me one more chance to see, yeah
Give me everything you are
Give me one more chance to be near you, awh
What everything inside me looks like
Everything I hate
You are the hope I have for change
You are the only chance I'll take
When I'm on fire when you're near me
And I'm on fire when you speak
And I'm on fire burning at these
Mysteries, mysteries, mysteries
You're on fire
You're on fire
You're on fire
I'm standing on the edge of me
I'm standing on the edge of me
I'm standing on the edge of me
I'm standing on the edge of me
I'm standing on the edge

of everything I've never been before
And I've been standing on the edge of me, I'm standing on the edge
And I'm on fire when you're near you
And I'm on fire when you speak
Yeah, I'm on fire burning at these mysteries
These mysteries
These mysteries
Yeah, your mystery
Yeah, your mystery

This song, oh this is a song. I remember the first time I heard it, in 7th grade, I was amazed then, and it continues to change me. I'll always remember last year when I saw Switchfoot play this song live in Houston. It was quite a moment, something I'll never be able to put into words. Jon started before the song talking about this world we live in, darkness...then for us to all pull out our cell phones and wave them in the air. As the song started and continued the room looked like the night sky filled with stars. I then realized more about the song then I had ever imagined or thought before.
Jon gives us a great glimpse at our sanctification in Christ, "You are the hope I have for change, You are the only chance I'll take". It's so true. Our only hope is Christ, and His empty tomb in Rome. Christ has changed me, and all my chips are in on Him. God willing the only thing I'll say when bowing before Him is Jesus. Jesus did everything necessary to save me.
One of my favorite parts of the song is the bridge when Jon sings, "I'm standing on the edge of everything I've never been before, And I've been standing on the edge of me, I'm standing on the edge". I can never help picturing myself getting ready to jump out of a plane, or off a cliff, with my whole life in front of me. After knowing Jesus, seeing His light, shining is something that I'm built for/am told to do/try to do daily. "Do all things without grumbling or disputing, that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast to the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I may be proud that I did not run in vain or labor in vain"
(Philippians 2:14-16 ESV). In Christ, we are claimed, cleaned, and lit up. It's like we're all old lamps in need of a master to come along and clean restore it.

7. "Only Hope"
There's a song that's inside of my soul
It's the one that I've tried to write over and over again
I'm awake and in the infinite cold
But You sing to me over and over and over again
So I lay my head back down
And I lift my hands and pray to be only Yours
I pray to be only Yours
I know You're my only hope
You sing to me of the song of the stars
Of Your galaxy dancing and laughing and laughing again
When it feels like my dreams are so far
You sing to me of the plans that You have for me over again
And I lay my head back down
And I lift my hands and pray to be only Yours
I pray to be only Yours
I know You're my only hope

I give You my empathy, I'm giving You all of me
I want Your symphony singing in all that I am
At the top of my lungs I'm giving it back
And I lay my head back down
And I lift my hands and pray to be only Yours
I pray to be only Yours, I pray to be only Yours
I know You're my only hope
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy worthy of praise, think about these things." Philippians 4:8
What can we find rest in? What shall we lay our heads upon? Is it in the muck, scandalous things of this world, or on Him, who's worthy of all our praise. Time and time again, God proves sufficient, He proves just in His ways. Our only hope as Christians is John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life". I find myself forgetting this profound verse all the time. I think because I memorized it a such a young age, I told myself that since I'd memorized it, I understood it. But that's so far from the truth! We should never look past/or think we understand this verse! It would almost be better if we don't make children memorize it, so they'll never get past grace. We should be reading it everyday, praying and thanking God for mercifully saving us.
Our only hope is that an all powerful God, might pity us. That He might spare us. So I will lay my head down, and quit worrying, resting in my only hope.

8. "Learning to Breathe"
Hello, good morning, how you do?
What makes your rising sun so new?
I could use a fresh beginning too
All of my regrets are nothing new
So this is the way that I say I need You
This is the way that I'm
Learning to breathe
I'm learning to crawl
I'm finding that You and You alone can break my fall
I'm living again, awake and alive
I'm dying to breathe in these abundant skies
Hello, good morning, how you been?
Yesterday left my head kicked in
I never, never thought that
I would fall like that
Never knew that I could hurt this bad
So this is the way I say I need You
This is the way that I say I love You
This is the way that I say I'm Yours
This is the way, this is the way
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The process of constantly failing, constantly needing forgiveness, constantly growing is sanctification. We're quite literally dying to breathe in these abundant skies.
Young Believer
This is very catchy. Especially in terms of new believer. I person not used to our lingo, terms, and knowledge. I new believer is thrown in to a church, not knowing what to expect, and constantly learning how to breathe. A baby not being able to handle solid food, but longing for milk.
Mature Believer
This is a great message to any old believer. The gospel at work. We screw up, God supplies. This song helps me in times when I feel most human. The times I fall, mess up, and need grace shown to me. As I live this life ahead, I will never be sinless, but hopefully I will gradually sin less and less. I'm learning to breathe.

And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers,12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, 13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, 14 so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. 15 Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, 16 from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love. Ephesians 4:11-16
